He better do an awful lot better than 61 points given the wages he's on.

Superstar manager in name only. He's had a better squad this season than he had at S'ton where he won more points and finished higher.

Or what? You'll bitch more on a forum.

If the clown get 72 points, considering his average over all the years he was managing was around 43, then Ronk will.

He improved last seasons and the seasons before tally, by 14 points.

He also took the worst seasons home points tally in our history, and delivered the best result since 1987.

That's significant progress

Almost every post turns into an-anti Koeman propaganda as well as finding a way to praise the fraud of the highest order. Agenda.

Daves missing the point.

72 points wasnt enough this season.

Or the season Clownface got it.

Ronny doesnt have to hit a points target, the goal isnt and never has been 72 points, the goal is 1st place.

imagine we'd have won instead of losing or drawing to burnley, swansea and bournemouth , hull, west ham and boro away,
all massively winnable games, that's 15 points leaving us on 76.....level with the rs

I know it's all if's buts and maybe's but do we really need that much more to add to turn those results around?

But the same can be said the about top 6, who also dropped points to winnable games mate. It's the PL.

Tickled me that for some reason

Should be easy: just 11 more points next season - hopefully the bare minimum workload of this season being supplanted by one of a greater volume (say, 52 games) wont tax "Ronk" too much.

Take out the word significant and I'd agree with that.

If he'd have beaten it by four points it would have been good enough.

Yes, league position is all important. But big points totals are the only thing that will get CL footy. There's been seasons when less than 72 points got you in (even less than 70). But we are not getting near even that sum.

Best two attempts to run up a big total by us in recent memory have been 65 by Moyes and 72 by Martinez. The Moyes CL spot finish on 61 points was the freak of all freaks and never to be repeated.

72 points was a freak. 44 points was the norm. I refer this to the fraud. But ok.

Let's not turn this into a Martinez thread. There's two threads over on the other forum devoted to that.

This is about what it take to get a CL spot.
