Can loans be called back at any time?

A loan could be racalled in January but Chelsea would have to pay us a lot of compensation and lets face it, this is Chelsea, they would sooner just buy someone else. For those that don't beleive it, Liverpool we close to recalling Carrol in january last year.

Hyperthetical case...Everton are top pf the league at Christmas, Lukaku has scored 12 goals. Chelsea are second, and recall Lukaku to sit on their bench, just so he can't score more goals for Everton.

I'm going to say, everyone is guessing at the terms of the loan deal.

It may have a clause in that he can be recalled, might not as well.

Exactly what I was thinking. I can remember a team having a back up keeper out on loan and they had a keeper crisis but couldn't recall their keeper. But I cant for the life of my remember who the player or club was.

It's entirely contractual. Some reports when he signed were that we paid a hefty loan fee for him. The clubs will have agreed about call back and suspect if we are paying a large fee there is either no call back option or we will basically get our money back if he is recalled. Wouldn't be able to happen until Jan anyway as they can't add him to their 25 man PL squad now.

The most important loan for me is Gareth Barry. My Dad said to me on the day we loaned him "He will be another Paul Power"

I think he could turn out to be our best summer signing

They have these amazing things called contracts; everything will be detailed in these. The chances of a season loan just being cancelled because chelsea decided they made a mistake is very, very unlikely. Considering we have paid a fee for a player, for a set period of months, its assurance that any move to cancel this agreement will thereby trigger some sort of compensation for us; i'd imagine that to be quite high considering the circumstances.

The majority of the ability to terminate the contract will rest with us; if we decided to cancel the contract in November and send him back, injury or poor attitude etc, we would be required to loose the fee paid.

Its a total different situation when we loan players to lower league clubs, i'd be surprised if they even paid us a fee. Them sort of deals are benefiting eVERTON

Season long loan and they cant call him back.

Hes ours for full season...apart from when we play chelsea so lets hope we avoid them in any cup comps (y)
