A loan could be racalled in January but Chelsea would have to pay us a lot of compensation and lets face it, this is Chelsea, they would sooner just buy someone else. For those that don't beleive it, Liverpool we close to recalling Carrol in january last year.

..suspect the terms of the loan mean both are here for the duration. I also suspect that in respect of Barry his deal might contain a transfer figure if there is anything left on his contract.

We took Franny Jeffers on a season long loan in 2003/2004 from Arsenal.

His attitude stunk, he had a major falling out with Moyes around March time.

We tried to send him back, but we couldn't because of the terms of the loan. When a loan is season long and fee arranged, there's no recall back for the parent club, or send back option for the loaning club.

In the lower leagues, where there is little money and far more players of a similar level of talent, and thus more flexibility in deals are need, players can be recalled.

In the case of McAleny, he wasn't recalled, both sides agreed to terminate the agreement because he suffered major injury and there's a decent chance he won't be fit again until the end of the season.

Barry is on a season long loan, at the end of which he is out of contract at City and available on a free.

If Barry really loves it at Everton and wants to stay, and his wage demands fit into the club's budget, he can sign a pre-contract agreement with us as early as January, to sign for us on a free transfer for next season and beyond.
