:lol::lol: Only joking, i like Neville at Right Back...But maybe without Carsley there Neville might fit into the midfielder better than last year...just a thought...

I really hope we sign M'Bia, we havnt been rumoured strongly with many other DM's have we?

Also, off topic, if we were going to get Fernandes, wouldnt we have signed him in time for these Pre-Season games? As it seems every time we loan him he is unfit for the first 3 or 4 matches...

I've got a feeling we'll sign Fernandes on loan towards the start of the season. Like everything that involves Fernandes and Everton it will take time. Hopefully it gets sorted.

Hopefully he gets a full pre-season with Valencia. If he does then his fitness will be fine. He was only unfit last season because he'd hardly played.

Everthing has gone quiet on M'Bia. I think it was just a rumour to be honest.

Good work out? We've just been beaten 4-2 by a Blue Square league outfit...and we had, at one stage or another, 7 plausible first teamers out on the park.

Look for the silver lining by all means (I believe O'Kane had a good one?), but that's [Poor language removed] shocking.

Moyesy Post Match:

David Moyes admitted that Everton ‘need to do much better’ after the friendly defeat at Cambridge United.

The Toffees fell behind in the very first minute of the encounter at the Trade Recruitment Stadium but then hit back to lead at half-time.
However, three second period strikes gave the Blue Square Premier League outfit a 4-2 win.

“We need to do much better,” said the manager afterwards.

“I think we could have scored ten but to concede four isn’t good. I’ve got to give Cambridge credit for the way they played.”

Once again, the slenderness of the Blues squad meant that Moyes had to turn out a cocktail of youth and experience and he conceded that it’s a bit thin on the ground at the moment.

“We don’t have much cover to give one or two boys a breather,” he said.

“We’re a little bit short in several areas but hopefully we’ll turn that round.”

One of the few plus points from the afternoon was the return to action of Mikel Arteta.

The Spaniard got the last quarter of an hour and showed some typically neat touches.

“It was good to get Arteta back but I think it was very noticeable that he is a long, long way off,” said Moyes. “But he will be ready for the start of the Premier League season.”

'We will turn that round' would have been more reassuring.

The lack of real contenders for first team duty must be a worry for Moyes.

Is this match, or highlights of it likely to be available on the net anywhere, i was at the game but would like to see it properly.

Its annoying we lost to a non league side even if there were a few kids involved for us, we should still of been strong enough to win it but it doesn't really matter as long as things are sorted out by the start of the season.

Good to see Mikel back and looking good.

What was your take on the match mate, who looked good, who didnt

Was hard to see properly cause i was low down behind the goal so couldn't see a decent view of the match but.......

Agreed with AVDM and Rodwell looking good. Shandy knocked some good crosses in and caused a bit of trouble down the right. Chased the ball a lot in a forward direction but didnt track back much leaving Irving a bit lost. He looked good apart from being too narrow and giving their left winger too much space at times.

O'Kane looked good, some nice touches and looks a good size.

As much as i like AJ he just isn't the player he once was. Admittedly a lot of balls aimed for him weren't good but even when he got to them he didnt do a lot with it Looked average today and not too nippy either.

But with a full strength midfield behind him he has a place, but today we didnt have that, today just confirms how weak we are there that AVDM and a sub can be our best players.

Couldn't really see the goals but Lukas didn't really do a lot else during the match. But if he knocks them in!

Lescott made a few lovely runs out of defence. Ruddy really should of saved their first goal, we dont need keepers who cant save shots like that.

Overall a rusty disjointed performance with some good points. And we can only get better.

I'm not really arsed about the result in pre season friendlies.

As long as the players get a good run out.

We need players big time.

Whether we won or lost isn't important no, but the conceding of 4 goals to non league oppisiton is somewhat worrying.

And yes we do need players and most of them will be back soon. Still need more after that but they will come too.

I'm not to worried to be honest. We all know how reliable Lescott, Jagielka and Yobo usually are. We've got one of the best defenses in the League.
