The highlighted bit here:

EVERTON have allayed fears that Tim Cahill's latest foot injury is serious.
The hugely influential Australian has broken bones in his feet on three separate occasions and came back from international duty last week suffering suspected plantar fasciitis.
The painful condition affects the underside of the heel, and is the same problem which eventually ended Danny Williamson's short-lived Everton career almost a decade ago.
But Blues boss David Moyes said: "I think rest will cure it. He was a bit doubtful in midweek and only played 25-30 minutes and that made it sore again so we'll have to see how he is and give him a fitness test in the morning.
"Are we worried? It's worrying because he's got an injury and we want him. But he got it while he was away playing with Australia."
Blues medical staff confirmed that the problem was nothing more sinister than a bruised heel after wearing different studs in his boots.
Cahill initially sustained a metatarsal injury at Sheffield United in March last year, and then aggravated it on his Everton comeback in a friendly against Werder Bremen at the end of July.
In March this year he limped off against West Ham at Goodison Park with a third separate incident of the same injury and underwent surgery to cure the problem.
This latest concern is not linked to his previous foot injuries.
is not good news at all, if the Echo have the information right.

Plantar fasciitis is an absolute [Poor language removed] to get rid of without rest. I've had it - in fact, still have it to some extent - and I don't put anything like the strain on my feet that a professional footballer does.

Not good news at all lad. It is concerning that Danny Williamson had the same injury that ended what was a promising career. Hopefully rest will help him but with you saying it is difficult to cure is a worry.

He's solid.

Couple of XXXX's and a shrimp freshly barbied will have the great man banging them in again in no time.

Struth.

Concerning news indeed. Doesn't sound good at all reading atrottels' post. Hope Tiny Tim pulls through and has some good years left at Everton.

Well, it does depend if a) the Echo has its information right, and b ) how severe it is.

But the condition isn't "a bruised heel" - it's an inflammation of a major foot tendon with similar recovery problems to something like carpal tunnel syndrome (the keyboard overuse injury with the wrist). If you want to get rid of it fully, you have to stop doing what brought it on in the first place (which is difficult with a foot, especially if it is part of your job ) and it takes quite a while for therapy to work.

And here we go again:

DAVID MOYES admits Tim Cahill is playing through the pain barrier because of his foot injury.
And the Goodison manager has hinted the Everton midfielder may ultimately have to undergo surgery to rectify the problem.
Cahill has been troubled with a heel complaint in recent weeks and was limping when substituted towards the end of yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough at Goodison.
Nevertheless, the 28 years-old has travelled to Bahrain for Australia’s World Cup qualifier on Wednesday.
But Moyes has revealed the player is struggling with the injury at the moment.
“I thought that Tim played very well, especially in the first half,” said the Goodison manager. “We used him and Fellaini in the middle today and we asked them to take turns, one of them going forward and one of them staying back. I thought it worked well.
“But Tim has a foot injury which is still a problem for him at the moment and you could see he was limping a bit towards the end.
“He had injections before the game and he was desperate to play, that’s what we like about him.
“But he has got a sore heel. I’m not sure that rest alone will be a cure.
“It’s not directly related to his foot problems in the past, but it’s maybe been a result of the way he has had to be rehabilitated and change things around a bit.”

From today's Post.

Well we all know what happens when Cahill decides to play for the Socceroos with a niggle. He comes back a cripple.

I said it all along, he should only play for aussie when he's fully fit. Keeps going over their half fit an coming back [Poor language removed]!!

FFS.......

It's time for him to choose.

Yes, ok, but what about this bit:

"Blues medical staff confirmed that the problem was nothing more sinister than a bruised heel after wearing different studs in his boots."

bit confusing
