Striker, midfielder, weetabix man, I don't care. The man's the sex, honestly. Without his goals now I think we'd be looking up at Wigan in envy.

So come on, come all, and heap praise on him. Verbal bukkake.

As the saying goes.. If I found him in bed with my missus

...I'D KICK HER OUT AND GET IN.

Watch it.

He's a "limited player" and they'll be saying he should be dropped on Toffeeweb and some *points at snides* on here

Blerts. He's incredible. I'd call him a man... but he's more than a man.

Well said, lids.

He's the man.

7 goals in 13 PL apps. Must surely be on course for his best ever season? If he keeps it up he could hit 15-20.

Remind me again who suggested he was getting too old and should be replaced/dropped a few months back!??!!

ME!!!!!!!!!

End of the day...he's not a midfielder. He doesnt link up play from midfield to strikers, he's not technically better than other player we have as a midfielder...

As a STRIKER or SUPPORT STRIKER which he's been for seasons now, he does the business.

He is limited. He does what he does best.

I used to agree, but he really is not limited.

He's helpful defensively -- at set pieces and tracking back. In the same way Neville's a great leader, Cahill brings that fighting presence. He's got really tidy feet, and does the one-twos as well as anyone. And he knows how to win the ball and assist others as well as scoring. Not to mention the space he creates when defenders focus on him -- a la Duncan Ferguson. He's as limited as a swiss army knife.

Yes, in the final 3rd hussling defenders. He's got a great leap, he finds space well in the box, he muscles defenders, scores goals and relys on wing play alot.

If you're talking as a midfielder, he's limited. There's a reason why say Cahill and Arteta in the middle is very unbalanced because on Cahill's side, he cant tackle (see his piss poor attempt at "challenging" Adam in the Blackpool game and Malbronque today) his positional sense isnt great, and his range of passing is average. He can do the basics.

Today was great example of the midfield crying out for that 5th midfielder, but Cahill was playing the support/main striker (and had a great game). Moyes has even said we play him further forward.

My problem has always been...we need a more creative force ala Fabregas/Van Der Vaart etc type player off the loan striker to link things up. That is not Cahill.

But Cahill as striker/support striker, he's does what he does well.

To say he's just a "attacking midfielder" who's got 7 goals so far when our strikers only have 1 a piece says a lot to what type of player Cahill is.
