WOUNDED Socceroos star Tim Cahill arrives in Sydney this morning for surgery on a debilitating foot injury that has felled him three times in less than a year.
Everton's midfield magician is expected go under the knife within 10 days before a 12-week rehabilitation program.
Cahill is expected to be fit in time for the next English Premier League season in August and, providing the Socceroos make the next phase, up to five World Cup qualifiers between August and the end of the year.

From the Australian Herald Sun

Nothing against the Socceroos, but if he recovers and then buggers off to play for thier qualifiers I am gonna be pissed. We have barely had his this season, and one key reason was he was off representing before he was healed. He needs to do the rehab program fully before he risks it again.

Take no chances Tim.

Seconded Dylan the Socceroos play way to many friendlies and the like. Cahill is knackered around this time for us anyway. I just didn't realise how important he is under the Moyes network strategy. He is a big reason why we have plummeted in form recently. The Yak AJ partnership just hasn't flourished yet. Maybe this week?????

He says that it's the same injury from before, and that he's hopeful of being back in action for pre-season training.

He also confirms that he's keen to play in World Cup qualifiers etc, but makes no mention of friendlies.

I'm not sure what to make of all that. The World Cup is wonderful, and I'd love to see Australia get through to the final four (or further), but realistically Everton is where Tim's far more likely to win some form of silverware, and he'd be much better off putting his energy there...

join the queue mate, you are a long way from that !! in fact on previous w.c. history i'd say n.z. are in front of you . if you see him down at harry's tell him we're gonna come down there and lob him in the bay if he keeps choffin' pies.
other establishments that should be put on alert are , the portugese chicken place up bondi, elizabeth bay bakery (fantastic double decker vanilla slices), maroubra pie shop (great chilli pasties and pies), in fact he should be given something to prevent him from eating from any aus. take-away as there are just so many good ones in sydney, one in botany had excellent choux buns.

Realistically, I know that we're not going too far, but in 2006 we got into the final 16 which I thought was pretty good. The Kiwis didn't even get to the finals...

There are plenty of good Portugese chicken places in the Inner-West, so I'll keep an eye out - Timmy may have been chatting to Manny...

i hope this is the end of his injuries bit susprised he is having it done in sydney and not in the uk....
