Buy back clauses

Seen some people mention these regarding lukaku. Not really done in England other than matic but how about the continent?

For Chelsea we could sign Lukaku with a buyback clause for them inside which would benefit all 3 parties. However wouldnt chelsea make more money if lukaku was just sent on loan every season until he put in a transfer request I suppose?

Deulofeu we hear is highly rated by Barca but theres no chance he couls displace their first choices whilst with our loan hes guaranteed games. Once Luis Enrique has seen this I think he will come back on loan but there may be a chance to buy him as well in the next year or two ith a buyback clause?

Bayern and PSG also have some top youth and Madrid have Moratta at not unreasonable prices.

I wonder how viable this could be for some players with their current clubs not able to give them gametime yet able to buyback in the future?

A buy back clause just gives the rich more power. The rich get richer and richer.

Football is so screwed up because of money. I stand by my stance that things could be 'fixed'...or at least improved by:

1. Limiting the number of contracts a team can have

2. Implementing a salary cap

I know it seems simple...but really, even if only step #1 were achieved a massive power balance would happen.

I imagine due to player power that if they kept being loaned out with their club makng yearly loan fees to cover the cost of their initial transfer fee like in the case of lukaku then the players woule request a transfer?

So perhaps it makes more sense to do the buyback clauses rather than risk having disgruntled players on the books?

The problem with liniting the number of players in a squad is that then it narrows the chances of youth coning through as well as there would be alot of top players moving overseas as they cant get in the squad with a team salary cap.

Nope. Limit everyone to a 50 player max. All it would do is redistribute the talent. The 20+ players knocked off the likes of Chelsea, Citeh, Liverpool, Utd, Barca, Real, etc, etc, etc, etc...would move to other teams, strengthening everyone else. The only bad in this situation is shoite players at the lower levels would be out of a job...as well as aging vets hanging on

Cheese, apart from your dislike of celery on cheese on toast, you speak a lot of sense.

I scratch my head sometimes as to how something so readily applied (i.e. limit to squad number) is not being applied.

@ilikecheese

50 players, weve got half that...surely no one has that many players in their squad?

I thought that squads were limited to 25 as it stamds already with a number needing to be homegrown?

LOL...I'm not so sure how much your first sentence helps my credibility you sick [Poor language removed] ;)

Ultimately, limiting the squad numbers would provide opportunities...and would make the Citeh's and Chelski's of the world have to think a lot.

I think the FA is more keen of a Cantera system, which entrusts the larger clubs with player development, and accepts the stocking up of players as a consequence.

The football pyramid as we once know is already finished.

fully agree - natural culling process and should generally improve standards and quality.
