Bullard and Ljungberg

My same reaction to all transfer rumours at the moment - at the start of the summer I'd have said no, but right now anyone will do!!! (y)

Bullard is a tidy player. I think one of the main reasons Fulham struggled last season was his long-term injury.

Ljungberg would be another Ginola.

Get in Bullard and go back and up the Joe Ledley bid (it was clearly us last week!) he's as good as Ljngberg at the moment and is on the up - not with his best days behind him.

Throw in Ross McCormack from Motherwell & Hib's Lewis Stevensen and we'll be fine.

Disappointed and still the tiniest bit hopeful that a big name will arrive, but we need to bolster numbers if nothing else.

It was a 3m bid for Ledley I believe? Wouldn't mind him as a squad player either, as he's still young and can improve. 2m is about the maximum I'd pay for him though.

Using Moyes own criteria, would Ljungberg or Bullard make it into the Arsenal or Chelsea side?

Move on..........

Exactly, neither would improve the side significantly, particularly Ljungberg.

Talk about lowering the standards.

Anyway, if it came to it I'd take Bullard. He's a decent player, nice passer and good at set pieces. He'd also be good to have in the squad as he's got a good character.

Ljungberg can [Poor language removed] off, he was [Poor language removed] at West Ham, inconsistent, lazy and only in it for the money. We don't want an overrated, money grabbing player.

Bullard isn't a bad Plan B. He's got good leadership skills. After the crap concentration on display yesterday, this club needs someone on the pitch to provide a good kick in the ass. Bullard isn't afraid to provide it for those in need of it.

The experience of shepherding a club out of dire straits may very well prove useful. Fulham were done and dusted until he and McBride returned to action.

That settles it then, Bullard for captain! Id pay 3 mil for him, or 7mil and Phil Neville

£7 million and Neville? You sure Neville would survive the Fulham physical? The fee might go up by £1 or £2 million.

At this point, after that disgrace of an effort, we need someone who can lead, direct, annoy, and get in the face of those who are not putting forth full effort.

It just looks to me we need someone who brings something more to the table than mere talent. Bullard isn't Mbia, Moutinho, or Love. The clubs he's been linked to in the past will not have you rushing to buy a shirt with his number and the letters "GOD" printed above them.

But as a leader on the pitch, someone who can put in place a manager's direction and make certain tactical/mental discipline is consistently maintained, Bullard would be a quality addition.

Really now I would love Bullard but thats another we are pipe dreaming about.

Freddie i'm not fussed about but for cheap wages could do a job for us every now and then. We have to lower our expectations a bit now I'm afraid.
