Bryan Oviedo

If Oviedo was as good with his right foot as his left foot, sure, but playing fullback on your weaker foot's side is much different than playing on your stronger foot's side.

If you'd seen him play yesterday as right back then you wouldn't be worried about it. Although his left peg's the stronger one, Oviedo is genuine two-footed, which is especially useful going forward. He knocked some decent crosses in with his right peg and he obviously has the option of cutting inside on his left.

Edit : @MartSlinger's already covered the above

Theres absolutely nothing wrong with his right foot.
Scored a goal for us against Stoke with his right peg & yesterday whipped in a few decent balls with his right.

Agreed, I think he'll be fine but obviously City are a whole other universe to Dag&Red so I think @mlyons concerns are partially justified.

Since Del has been starting, our right side is set up differently. Del hugs the touchline so Coleman no longer overlaps as much. He drifts inside a lot more.

Oviedo may actually may be more dangerous cutting inside, due to his strong left peg shot.

Even if he was putting in crosses on his right they can't be much worse than Coleman's crosses. They're pretty poor.

Pat Van den Hauwe was right footed and played left back because Kendall wanted to ensure his strong side was where the winger might cut in.
Did not apply that argument to Gary Stevens at right back though.
Imo Oviedo looked very comfortable at right back, admittedly not tested much.

The litmus test will be him up against De Bruyne or/and Sterling tomorrow - with the likelihood of Silva also coming over to link up on that side.

You see it a lot with right footed left backs. Hardly ever see left footed right backs, though. I don't suppose there's any reason it can't work, though.

Always thought Oviedo was two footed anyway, more concerned about if he's up to speed now rather than any concern about him playing on the right, City will be sure to put a lot of pressure on him with that little scrote Sterling

Of all the players who are coming up to the end of their contracts though he is the one i really hope shows enough fitness and form to get himself an extension - absolutely terrible luck with that injury just as he was starting to really come into the team and look quality...

Honestly think that's just because there's probably more right footed players in general so theres rarely going to be a need to be a left footer on the right. Late night rambling here haha

Philipp Lahm played a lot of his career for Bayern at left back, played their for about 4 seasons from what i remember
