Bryan Oviedo

Some of this 'get rid we don't need him' is a bit short sighted. Baines is coming to the twilight of his career. He's not tall or strong of positionallt very good, so when he loses that yard of pace he won't be a guaranteed starter by any means. Barry will be out of the picture soon (hallelujah). Jags will also come to an end at some point so we will see Galloway more in the middle. That means in a couple of seasons we could potentially be left with only Garbutt who has not proven himself at this level yet at all. I still think Oviedo is our second best left back and our successor to Baines him and Garbutt can fight for the first team spot once Baines drops off. Otherwise we're banking our entire future on one unproven left back and a CB covering him who might well be first choice by then.

But you're thinking a little too long term mate. He will want football now. And he's just not going to get it here.

Why not? With everyone fit he is second choice left back. Baines is increasingly getting injured. If Oviedo had stayed injury free he'd be in instead of Galloway right now.

That's the thing though. He's not second choice. He might be to you, but he's not to the one who picks the team.

Rightly or wrongly.

He is working hard in training, waiting for a perfect or phenomenal moment when he can come in and help the team. That's all you need to know.
