If we end up signing him I think it'll be great business for us. He is young and talented, can cover play all over the Left side of the pitch and for less than 2M it sounds great.

Those of you who are not happy we are signing a Leftback cover for Baines need to understand we need depth if we want to challenge for silverware and we want to compete in Europe that goes without saying the need to consistently finishing in the top six. We have a strong starting Xl and 3 or 4 substitutes not enough to accomplish the goals I just mentioned above.

Moyes have made a great job building a team with talented and versatile players but if we get 2 or 3 players injured/suspended at the same time we could look very thin. Hopefully we'll finally get a proper backup for Baines and another player who'll improve the squad as a hole.

Fox, LCAB etc were saying the banks were off our case atm, so we must have reduced the debt enough for it not to concern them for the time being.

This is the first season in a long time where Moyes has a striker he knows can score a significant amount of goals if given the service. I think Moyes is just trying to do everything he can to try and make sure our squad is strong enough to compete and hopefully get us back in to Europe.

He's in the last year of his contract, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that £2m max is more likely.

I'm wondering though... do you think the £5m+ fee has been leaked by Everton, so that the £3m "change" can go to "other operating costs"?
