O'Neill is no better than Allardyce. In fact I rate Sam as a better manager, least nowadays. O'Neill has only ever had one big job with Aston Villa and managed one good season before his mistakes with transfers led to their collapse a few years later. He's a chronically overrated manager and always has been.

Aren't they the same age anyway? If you're after a younger guy to stick around for quite a few years then maybe someone like Michael O'Neill from Northern Ireland.

I found out recently that I'm very likely eligible for Italian citizenship via jus sanguinis?

They have some strange law in order to bring in more white people reverse demographic shifts that allow foreigners of Italian descent to apply for citizenship. There's only one real question on regarding when my great grandfather got his American citizenship, then I just need to get the documents, translate 'em, and drop them off at a consulate and I'm a dual citizen.

Our team plateaud at mediocrity and scrappiness. Our youth system is horrific at best. Our organization is shambolic as a whole.

So instead of bringing in "change", someone with an understanding of football - the game itself, organization and development - let's bring in more of the same from some shady Marketing organization more hellbent on making money (rather than reinvesting it back into developing "the product") and promoting the MLS than either national team.
