Bruce is such an asshole... if you have beIN you can watch his postgame. He was asked what do you think of the current state of the program. His response... I always said the only way you can judge a program is at a world cup... essentially saying he can't judge it and then proceeded to say to the reporter... well you saw the game, what did you think. Bruce can go [Poor language removed] off.

One could argue the amazing coverage of the premier league on NBC Sports has done more for soccer for the casual sports fan than the USMNT. It’s on every morning before college and NFL games. At least thats what I’m clinging too. I know a lot of people who watch more soccer bc of this, so here’s hoping
It's worst for the kids that haven't picked a sport yet. The world cup can captivate the whole country and get the energy up. Now they don't have that.

Everyone that already loved the sport still will. It's the next generation I worry about.

Love NBC's coverage.. but no comparing the impact of the sports popularity of a decent WC. It's not even close. I don't think the sport will disappear, but it just sucks. It's embarrassing.

cheer up! knowing how corrupt Fifa is, they'll probably find a way to bump someone else out (likely on corruption charges - in football, always there when you need them) in order to salvage your millions of eyeballs and wallets...

I don't really think so. World cup happens in a good spot with no other sports competion. Its a bit more popular than the olympics now IMO and more people watch the prem over MLS. Even the Euros have done well here.

I disagree. I think MLS fans couldn’t care less how many Americans are on their team, they go because it’s their home team and it’s soccer. That won’t change no matter what the national team does.

I'm not talking about MLS regulars and diehards. Im talking about the general American sports fans who watch the national team and don't really care about MLS . Alot of casual soccer fans in the US don't even have an MLS team.

also as others have mentioned World Cups can be big for future generations. Do you know how many young kids who probably don't see MLS or Prem would've watched the US in the world cup and dreamt of being the next Christian Pulisic

wouldn't have happened with Cameron in. CB/CDM who palys week in week out for a midtable prem team available but lets play the washed up CB from Pachula. Do one Arena you arrogant fossil

I'm gonna go do a shot of old overholt. I'll need to forget tonight... Unfortunately, I'll need to forget every night for the next 4 years to really forget tonight.
