This is why he’s been sacked.
Most of them players have a lot of potential - a better manager will show everyone that.

Doesn’t necessarily mean they’re any goodMost of them players have a lot of potential - a better manager will show everyone that.
Given what Potter had to work with there it's an achievement in that they were not fighting relegationI'd kind of get it if they had a box office or proven manager to replace him with, but is Potter really going to do that much better?
They played well against City in that one Cup game, but his Swansea side were 9 points off the play offs and 24 off automatic promotion
It's hardly like he's proven himself to be miles better than Hughton. If they had Conte coming in then I'd totally understand it
You could class Potter's season at Swansea as a failure due to how far off the pace they were

That lot would relegated with Harry Potter. Bunch of weasleys.I'd kind of get it if they had a box office or proven manager to replace him with, but is Potter really going to do that much better?
This seems to be were there is some issue, he did'nt actually sign the players as Brighton do seem to use some sort of a transfer team type setup.Think he deserved the sack to be honest. The team had completely lost their way. I have sympathy in the sense that two of his best players in Gross and Izquierdo have been injured for large parts of the season, but it's not like he doesn't have solid back up for both. He's been given a lot of money in comparison to other sides around Brighton's level and he hasn't been forced to sell any of his best players from what I can tell.
Bottom line is, players like Jahanbaksh, Locadia, Andone, Propper, Bisouma, Bernardo and Montoya (all signed by Hughton for decent money) haven't been good enough. Getting beat 5-0 by a team like Bournemouth is shocking. The only reason they stayed up is because the three sides below them were abysmal.
Brighton do have money to spend. They are also just in the process of expanding their training complex, so i think they are trying to move on as a club. I know from talking to various Brighton fans the last couple of days, they really don't want that Potter guy so this could get slightly interesting. If memory serves me right it's Dan Ashworth running the show there these days football wise.Madness really , what do they expect? But maybe the board are showing ambition.
