Bridging The Gap.

The Enclosure had some right tits to be truthful. I remember this one young lad that used to stand there, the only black person in that part of the ground. Even his mates used to shout n***** at the opposition players. Disgusted me.

The most moronic racist abuse I ever heard was actually in the paddock. Some fcukwit screamed "[Poor language removed]" to a player. His mate turned to him and said, he's not from Pakistan, he's Italian. So immediately Neanderthal screams: "You fukcing daygo [Poor language removed]." Brain of a pea.

That was back in the '80s, probably '84.

Aye Nebb', I can well believe those two stories, mate -- something used to be rotten in Denmark -- but not any more. (y)

Wrong, its still there, it just doesnt show itself as much as it used to.

Better though mate, because it's not the done thing anymore.

Was Les' comment about "something rotten in Denmark" aimed at me? Was he having a pop, lad?

Sort him, Goat. :D

Apologies Nebb', I know you included a 'smiley' but I may have been out of order. The reason I said what I said was because of the location you show - Nordylland - and without trying to be too nosey, I was wondering if you are a scouser living in Denmark or a fully-fledged Dane.

Sorry mate, I had a brain abberation. (n)

Oops, can you give an example, MikelG.

Well yes, I often used to hear crys of "Yak you lazy n*****".

To say that everybody has embraced the anti-racism batton is very wrong. As Neb says, its frowned upon, so thankfully it doest happen as much.

Sadly on Sunday I was treated to a few bars of the Heskey trigger, trigger song. This was sang right next to a number of black men, they didnt seem to mind much, thankfully, but it hasnt gone, its just hiding.

Everton, Oh Everton.

No matter where you go, whatever you might see

Nothing can match the grandeur of EFC
Dean, Lawton, Royle, Latchford, Sharp, and Yakubu
Historic centre forwards, men to admire - never to rue.

The lastest batch of blue, forever on my mind
Their names are engraved in a heart meant to bind
Baines, Pienaar, Vaughan, Cahill, Jags, and Fellaini
Ready to write their names, on the stage - of new Wembley.

There's one thing they should know, when they play that May day
They belong to a family who yearn to see them play
They will come from afar, in their droves with a passion
Evertonians are unique, they're the kings - of football fashion.

So remember my boys, remember our name
We hail from Goodison Park where we honour our brave
Moyes is our general, Prince Rupert our tower

Everton, oh Everton, blue beacon - of power.

that is superb.

les, you gotta stick around!!

Been over here for about 7 months, Les. Just starting to learn the language and all that.

I was joking with you, mate. Just my childish humour surfacing. Goat brings out the worst in me.

Ah, thanks for that, MG. :@

Ah, to be honest, I don't blame you -- Scandinavian women are gorgeous -- good luck regarding why you're there, good buddy.

MikelG is as sharp as a knife -- he's definately not a wallflower.

Mikel -- (y)

Nebb' -- (y)

that is superb.

Cheers, tepp'.

Hehe, tbh fella' -- I do intend to, and this is why:-

I've dabbled in a couple Everton forums/newsgroups and this the way I view the whole thing.

This forum is the Main Stand (Goodison Road).

NSNO is the Upper Bullens Road Stand.

alt.sports.soccer.everton is the Lower Gwladys Street.

Subsequently, I have meandered from the Lower Gwladys to the Main Stand -- and I like where I'm sitting.

ps -- tepp', you separated the first & lines -- I'm tempted to think that might be an improvement.

thumbsup.

How did you end up going to Denmark ? I went to Gothenburg , Sweden last year and loved it . Wouldnt mind giving Scandinavia a whirl . Do not want to live in England much longer . Advice about Denmark would be nice mate .
