I think its incredibly sad that football is reduced to data and with AI will be making the decisions (as Benham has pretty much said). Takes the humanity out of the game. But it appears inevitable. Its smart and soulless.
Yeah why use any of that data-malarky when you can rely on BK's old rolodex or Thelwells copy of FM23 someone found in a drawer. Those pillocks at Brighton and Brentford clearly have no idea what they're doing.

I said it time and time and time again. Barry is the one of the 2 to get rid off. I would 100% keep Beto, he is way more of a team player and trys and gets involved and works for the team

He is a player who scores goals but is happy to sit on the bench, mad if we sell imo. He is the perfect player for something like the Europa Conference imo.

Clearly well liked in the squad and we hear that he's always doing his best in training.

Its a tricky one with Beto as to keep him you need to give him a new contract.

That then takes him past his 29th birthday and his value then will probably mean we may as well keep him until hes 33ish.

I'm not particularly against that if we sign either a top notch starter or a young player to develop.

Either way, we then have the second dilemma which is Barry.

No one is giving us £27.5mil back for him and at the same time, he may just need this season to adapt as used to be said for all foreign signings.

That is the real issue as I also dont think its a clever idea for Moyes to have 3 centre forwards. We need 2 and for a player in a different position to be an option there (e.g George/Dibling etc).

Small squads are best for Moyes.

Which then begs the question, what will Moyes do?

Theres no sign of an extension for Beto.

Moyes doesnt seem the type to sell both forwards.

What happens next?

Didn't watch this one so was going to piggy back on whoever got the most votes. Naturally then, probably the most split MOTM vote I can recall...

Hi @smileychap

My understanding of the fall out coming from the equine side of thing is as:

Bloom owned Premier Bet and taught Benham all he knows, behind Blooms back Benham set up his own rival betting company Smartodds using and copying everything Bloom had taught him. Benham was put on notice with a gardening leave action also attached, but when Bloom found out that Benham had virtually copied Blooms business model he fired him and took him to court, and Benham settled out of court. They allegedly detest each other, which is sad really for grown men to still hold grudges going on 23 years and counting but hey ho.

Regards

Is that right? Makes sense now that I heard bloom sacked him, and would've done the same, frankly. Proper back stab that was Still, I rate the job Benham did at Brentford. Brilliant story - cheers!

I wonder what skeletons TFG has in the cupboard?

Hm. It's a good q this... And where 'evertonism' strikes: loyalty, looking for the best in players, being fair and wanting the best for EFC. They rarely combine.

I find it easier to judge to consider Europe.

EUROPE: MAYBE Keep both and add a first choice CF. we'll have have games and knocks to cover, and bin who isn't working. They'll have had a fair go by then.

NO EUROPE: We should ideally bin one and for me that's Barry. Since not making Europe is definitely related to our CFs, but also FB's and no real 10 either.

I doubt TFG really have any 'skeletons in the closet' as it were, but I think waaaay toooo many people who know absolutely nothing about them just assume they have the highest levels of ambition and will absolutely take this long time non-relevant football club back to the top when the simple answer might be the right one: an asset they purchased for pennies on the dollar, plodding along nicely somewhere in the middle of the richest and most lucrative and most in demand sports league in the world (which will only increase) reprents a great win for their investment.

Absolutely shocking start. Pickford moment of madness for the first time in a while. In the build up to their first goal one of our players was clearing the space for them to run through. Didn't see who it was. At no point did I think we'd lose today. Dewsbury hall was everywhere yet again and was the only player we would have been certain would score with his goal at the end. Not confident any of our other players would have put that away but was certain he would. We'll not get champions League but what an improvement thanks to Moyes. Also George was exactly the sort of sub we need on the bench.
