Well that worked out well. Turned up and pitch was unfit for play, someone had dug several large holes into it (sort of like the Free George Davies campaigns of the mid 1970's)

Riverwest FC (my pub team) battered 5-1 in our opening match of the season.

It was my first time playing competitively in over a decade, I was on the back line for most of my time in but only one goal was scored while I was actually on the field, so I'll say alright first time out.

Speculation is the team we played will be the likely league winners, so eh, some are just better than you .

I'll have to get a picture of our pitch next time out, pretty ace location with an awesome view of the city skyline.
