I have come to the Isle of Wight for a weekend with my missus and it is a peculiar place indeed. I'm not sure what to make of it. I have spoken to a couple of mancs at a bar, one a r/s fan and the other an Arsenal fan?????. I have engaged in conversation with an actual person who lives here, who is a marine engineer, but I don't know what to make of him?. I feel like I have booked a trip to a Westworld type destination. The robots are behaving so far, but I am here 'til Monday.
Now in my hotel bed, tomorrow will be an adventure.
Careful, sounds like its 'the wicker man' type of place.

'Tis a bizarre little spot to be sure. I was in Cowes for a spot of messing about in vessels over the Summer. It's like stepping back 50 years. Shedded in the Vectis Tavern (a decent pub TBH), I had some massive Walt try and say he was in 24 Air Mobile Brigade during Bosnia. I called him out on it in front of his yachting mates, with whom he'd been spinning tall tales of daring do for years, So it was a pleasant evening in the end for me (but not for him).

I got flashed by a speed camera on Saturday 8th, so just over 2 weeks ago. I've not had a letter through yet so do I assume that either, A) I've been lucky and got off with it, or B) If I do receive the letter now then it's over the 2 week limit and so I can reject it?

They have to serve a " Notice of intended prosecution " on you mate.

This has to be issued within 28 days of the offence, although it doesn't have to reach you within 28 days - if that makes sense.

I think you have got away with it though, as I got done a couple of months ago and the letter came through four days after the event.

Just checked the Gov website and it says it's got to be within 14 days. So looks like I've got away with it.

One question mate. Is the car yours or leased?

The reason I ask is because I got done by a mobile camera in wales.
Thought I'd got away with it but they sent the notice of prosecution to the lease company, and they forwarded it to my company.
Took over 3 weeks so thought I was in the clear.
Sounds to me you're in the clear though.
