When was the last time you excericsed mate ?.

That pain is your calf muscles tightening ( your bodies way of telling you to stop ). Next is a strain or tendonitus / achillies problems.

If you haven't done anything for ages, the first few weeks should be a load of stretching before and then a jog at just above walking pace on flat ground for about ten mins just to get your muscles used to running again.

I know this as I didn't do a thing for four years and then started again too quickly a few months ago - spent weeks with calf sprains and tendonitus !

thanks for the tip, coyb! aye, i wanna get fit again so i can start playing 5-a-side...really miss it. i'll go with that: lots of stretching before some light jogging.

The biggest mistake we all make is rushing back when starting again. Don't be ashamed to start at almost a quick walk for the first week or two. You'll know when you're ready to move up a gear as you won't be as sore the following day. Whatever you don't do go into a five a side game until you know you can handle it !

....let us know how the interview goes. What is she looking to study?

Cheers. Just got back home. A bit of a hike with all the motorway problems today. She wants to be a vet so it was a bit of a grilling. She felt parts of it went pretty well, others less so. We'll have to wait and see. The shopping was a run away success, though. Cleaned out.......

......brilliant to have that aspiration. Just watching supervet now (rather than the match). Wish her good luck from me and I hope the A Levels go well, I'm sure she will find a place somewhere and hopefully that is Liverpool.
