I think Bobby's feats at this World Cup would have changed the majority of Evertonians views regarding Bobby. I suspect he'd be welcomed back with open arms. He's a winner.

Assume you're on the wind up on this thread...

Courtois
Alderweireld
Kompany
Verthongen
Lukaku
De Bruyne
Hazard

In their starting line up, with Fellaini, Witsel, Carrasco, Mertens and Dembele also in the starting 11/squad.

He's done what's expected of him - Semi Finals were the minimum expectation and I think overall they have the best squad. How he's landed this role I will never know after his failures whilst here.

But fair play to him so far, he has world class talent available to him and he's currently getting the best out of them which is all he can do.

Yeah right.

It wasn’t like Brazil were always going to be waiting in the quarter final or owt......Belgium had an easy path to the semi final :Blink:

You can't be serious. Belgium's "Golden Generation" is better in almost every position than Englands.
If you go by position to position
Courtous----> Pickford
Munier~Trippier score draw
Alderwield-----> Stones
Vertogan------> Maguire
Kompany-------> walker
Carrsuro~young score draw
Fellaini------> henderson
KDB----------> Alli
Witsel<-------- Lingard
Hazard---------> Sterling
Lukaku<-------- Kane

Belgs clear winners and they have fantastic depth on the bench

I think the problem with Martinez is that we really did play like Belgium did tonight in his first season here, on more than one occasion (Newcastle away, United away, Arsenal at home, Stoke at home). We never played like that again, at least in the league.

Jags, Baines, Rom, the Toffee Girl, Kenwrong, those Park End lids, his wife, some bloke in Tescos and the dogs in the street were all perfectly entitled to ask him why.

Let’s face it, he never practiced set pieces. If we did we would have scored more and conceded less. Therefore won more games in last two dire seasons. He had to go.
Martinez is older wiser, as apparent with the plan b, lump it to fellani tactic against Japan.
Good for him.
In fact, I’d have no trouble having him back if promises to have a plan b, and practices set pieces.

I'm not quite sure why he keeps repeating this. Think i'm missing the joke somewhere.
Same here mate...I am not sure why he mentions ‘the Golden Generation’...is it a play on words or something?. Like you, I must be missing the joke.

I recall Fowler doing the same against Arsenal years back, was still given despite protests. Maguire seems to be a good lad, wish he hadn't done the VAR thing after Horrendeson got butted like, not something I like seeing players do
he did do it and henderson did play act, it happened, the english players do not have different standards

Hazard has gone up a level at this World Cup, what a player. Mad that Neymar seems to think he’s on Ronaldo and Messi’s level when he couldn’t even lace Hazard’s boots.

he was going up a level first half of the season I thought, slowed a bit with all the weirdness at Chelsea, but yeah I thought he might be the one to push CR7 and lionel drugpusher levels
