Braiden Graham

Don’t know how long his contract is at the moment but I’d be worried about putting him on before the end of the season and one of the youth poachers coming and snapping him up. (Although maybe less likely now we aren’t in PSR trouble like with Samuels-smith and others).

Read he has 1 year left. Is he looking to be off or have the club not offered him the deal he wants?

His home ground was Windsor Park when he played for Linfield. Having played at the old Casement Park I wholeheartedly agree with you that it should have been rebuilt and used for the Euros but I am not sure it would have been used as a home ground for Northern Ireland as it was to be handed over to the GAA. Personally I think the biggest missed opportunity was when it was decided not to build a new stadium at the Maze or Dargan Crescent for the GAA, rugby and the IFA with a rail link to Belfast but that is our politicians.

Graham would have played his football at training facilities miles away from Windsor Park. Which is a good job, as he probably would have been traumatised playing in front of those Linfield fans. He's better off over here where only his talent will matter.

As for Casement Park: there's no reason that couldn't have been an alternative for Windsor Park for NI games. Yes, there'd be issues initially. But then so too are there issues for people from Nationalist areas (should they have wished to attend) who have had to make those compromises for decades and decades.

If barriers are to be broken down over there and walls to tumble then it's around cultural stuff like this providing a lead.

It'd be just like Moyes to put Graham on the bench on Monday to underline 'how much he's trying to bring younger players through'.

It'd be like a glutton sprinkling a few grape nuts over the top of a huge Black Forest Gateaux.
Well he's a day older than yesterday so he's on the right track, but by monday he'll be 2 days older than today, that might be to late for some..

Graham played for the Linfield first team, he is their youngest ever goal scorer. He has played at Windsor Park. While I have been at Windsor Park for Northern Ireland games I have only ever seen Linfield play at the Sowgrounds in Newry and that was pretty feisty. I come from a nationalist area and I attended Windsor with mates who were catholic indeed a mate of mine played for Linfield and got more abuse because he had previously played for Glentoran. If players like Braiden don’t opt for Northern Ireland then things won’t change. A good football team from diverse backgrounds would help.

Like other clubs worth their salt don't know about him anymore than they don't know about Sheuma Mheuka, Kieran Morrison, Sean Neave etc. 😆

I’ve read your posts from afar and there’s no doubting your religious outlook.

I’ve read your posts from afar for a long time and can smell your sectarian overtones a mile off. People just need to read over your anti-Ferguson/Patterson rhetoric to get an idea as they are ex-Rangers men for a start (btw I’m an Aberdeen man). On a couple of your points… ‘issues’ for NI fans travelling up the falls road to support NI. Ffs behave yourself. If there were thousands of NI fans going up to casemount for a match it would be hell. Proper old fashioned rioting from both sides. Secondly, NI matches are supported from both sections of the community as are the players who represent both sides. Ive seen the change since the Neil Lennon debacle (my daughter is Catholic and attends all games with me). Thirdly, Graham trained with Linfield next door to Windsor park at Midgley Park. Not miles away. So if you are going to comment on such matters like the final point, get your facts right. Anyway, peace and love from Ulster and UTFT!
