What surprised you then mate ?I am very surprised Ward got that decision to be honest. Just watched it and it was close in parts but Kovalev won it for me

Sky pundits view.
anyone who calls it boring doesn't understand or appreciate boxing at the elite level .The cabbages that are coming out saying robbery, really are the worst kind of people.
It was a close fight, but once Ward regained his composure his class shone through.
SMH at people calling it boring also.
I think Ward did hurt him. A couple of times and the body shots wore kovalev down . If they were to fight again I think Ward would win again and leave no doubt or claims of a robbery . He started slow IMO due to not knowing. How he would deal with kovalev's power and range . He won't let that happen again .I feared for Ward in round 2 and thought Kovalev would try and blast him away in the 3rd but it just didnt happen and Ward just chipped away at him for the rest of the fight and hit him with the better punches. I dont think Ward really hurt Kovalev but he backed him up a few times and hit him with some great punches up close. As much as I can see Kovalev wanting a rematch I can't see Ward fancying it too much and if he did agree to it trying to get Kovalev to come down to super middleweight and fight on his terms rather than stay at light heavy.
Was a really enjoyable fight and glad that the two of them actually agreed to it, its what boxing should be but isnt most of the time. We want to see the best fighters fight each other and put unbeaten records on the line against other class fighters who are still in their prime.

I know Ward rocked him back a few times but you didnt really see Kovalev on unsteady legs. I think Ward did win it and thought he had it by 2. Cant really see how anyone can say it was a robbery, was a very good close fight that was very good for the image of boxing, (unlike the earlier Booker Perez fight which was an absolute joke of a decision)but still don't really see why he would take the fight on though as Kovalev is obviously dangerous and I think Ward earned any element of doubt in the first place by going up to light heavy. As Kovalev tired Ward looked even better and I think that all the wrestling trying to tie Ward up earlier on in the fight caught up with Kovalev in the end. Ward looked like he had more still to come at the bell. Ward holds all the aces now and if he wants a rematch, which as I say im not sure he does Id be surprised if he didn't try and gain an advantage by bring Kovalev down to super middleweight.
Think in the next 12 months we need to see Alvarez vs Golovkin get made and domestically we need to see Brook Khan. Get the fights the public want to see done. Would like to see Joshua Wilder sooner rather than later too.
