Boxing

I think if I mentioned Lennox Lewis to the majority of my Canadian mates they would not know who he is because he never played hockey.

They will know Tyson but they won't know who Lennox Lewis is which annoys me greatly. As a dual citizen of Canada and the UK myself he is responsible for starting off of my love of boxing. Growing up in the 90s in Liverpool I never got many connections to Canada (though we partially claimed Tomasz Radszinski according to my dad) so when my arl fella told me there was a Canadian who was the Heavyweight Champ of the world I developed an interest.

I remember the first fight I ever watched live was Lewis vs Rahman. Me and my brother slept on the pull out downstairs and my parents woke us up at 3 to watch the fight. Lewis looked more tired than we were and got stopped in the 5th.

We moved to Canada the year after and I don't think I remember anyone talking about boxing when I was in high school there and the UFC was just starting to get some attention after the Ultimate Fighter show.

I went back to Liverpool for a year at 20 and my cousin was an up-and-coming amateur so I went to a load of his fights down at the old docker's club and fell in love with the sport all over again. I'm planning on going to watch a fight in either Quebec City or Toronto for my stag do once all these restrictions are lifted.

Eggington looked alright there, was very unlucky on his last matchroom card. Theophane has had a good career hes fought in at least 10 countries and fought Broner and Danny Garcia.
