*sigh*
I'm coming around to these farce fights if they bring more eyes to the sport.
There's barely anyone who watches over here. Its all UFC or nothing.
I wasn't going to watch Tyson vs Jones Jr but naturally my mate who doesn't care about boxing at all wanted to see Tyson fight.
Boxing viewing figures are massive in this country and when a Joshua or Fury fight on PPV they get massive numbers.
Boxing is only struggling in the states for many reason. To many networks, not enough big fights getting made, fighters wanting to much money, not enough personalities in the sport in the states, ppv prices to costly. A big fight in the states, will always do more numbers than the UFC. Boxing is bigger in this country than the UFC IMO. The UFC was a flash in the pan style for juice heads with tap out t-shirts on.
It’s not a real boxing fight, it’s an exhibition. It’s been happening for years in America with big profile fighters doing exhibitions. That Logan Paul with his millions of viewers will bring over massive numbers to fight the biggest name in boxing in the last 20 years. I’m against it, but like you said, if it attracts more fans to the sport, great.
I'm talking about Canada not the US. There really isn't much interest in the sport in this country beyond a bit of Quebec and a few gym downs in Toronto.
Most people here could only name Tyson if you asked them to name a boxer. They don't know any of the British fighters at all.
These aren't fights put on for people who enjoy watching decent boxing. They're entertainment shows and a farce but hopefully they pull some more younger eyes to the sport.
mayweather has done it before, he does exhibition fights for the money then dissapears for a few yearsMayweather is a joke. If he is actually taking this "fight" he's even worse than I thought he was

i remember when he fought this fella
Lewis? My mistake. I know the UFC is massive in Toronto.
Sad really cos Canada have had some good entertaining boxers as of late with Bute, Pascal and Arturo Gatti. Promoters should certainly be looking at getting into that Toronto market and the whole of Canada. A huge boxing fight will always do bigger numbers than a MMA fight, most people wanna see toe to toe action, the UFC market that amazingly.
*sigh*
Lewis?
