Because Moyes at every opportunity he could portrayed us as plucky little everton mate to boost himself at the expense of the club, now hes at a team that he cant use that line.

very true this, Moyes has no hole to dig himself out of now.

I will never tire of videos from that day. Can't believe I was there. Didn't stop singing from 5am when I got to Rigbys on dale street waiting for our coach. Not ashamed to say I cried when jags slotted, started hugging random strangers. I didn't sit near me mates and when we all let up outside we started a group hug and about 50 other people joined in. Still can't believe Cahill missed his pen, apart fom that all our pens were brilliant that day.

2012 wasn't the same, not just after the result but before it, I think everyone was too nervous to get excited because it was that lot.

2012 wasn't the same because the KO time was f****ng ridiculously early. No build up at all. No RS to take the piss out of (where were they all before the game? Were they parachuted directly into the stadium?).

Funny you say that as i thought that as well on the day, we stoped at more than on service station each way and they were %85 Everton, same in London on the tube and near by, considering how much they love there "kit" we didnt see as many as those of the Royal Blue Jersey

Stopped at Watford gap and saw some Hellenes who started throwing bottles, then in the bogs one southern red turns to a load of blues and says 'so you're all real scousers then?'

Great that.

The Schadenfreude posted on here at times makes me sad. Moyes was great and the revisionism is appalling.

This was Moyes best Everton team and the best team we have had in my lifetime, I am 20. Gutted we missed three key players for such a part of the season. This day was amazing but when we took the lead in the final was absolutely insane. I would kill for a trophy this year.

What a day that was, the weather was boss and the mood was even better all the way up and around the ground. I remember thinking on the day (as cringey as it sounds) 'I'm going to savour every moment of this as it could be a while before we get back'. I said to my mate when we walked out into the stands 'we need to be here more often'. As it was, we were there a month later. It gave me a craving for big occasion games like that really. It's why I think I'd get so much more joy from us winning the cup than finishing 4th.

Same cups mean so much more too me than a imaginary 4th place trophy. There's no magic in coming 4th

It was my best day as an Everton fan, right smack bang in the middle of the away end.

The fella next to me was in a complete haze. I'll never forget the look on his face when he asked me what was going on and I told him if Jags scored this pen we were in the FA Cup Final. Sheer terror lol
