'Morbo'
'Tor'

Decent books on Spanish and German footy, respectively.

And 'Soccer Versus the State', by Gabriel Kuhn.

I've heard that cas, that west ham fan is even worse for the bs

My Dad read in one of his books that the County Road Cutters chased him from the ground and soon he was 'in the heart of Toxteth'.

Word on the street is it's Dave Kitson. Some of the stories and thinly veiled accusations aimed at certain footballers and their wives are like something from a naff soap opera.

"A season with Verona" by Tim Parks, he's a Manchester journalist /English teacher based in Verona, decides to write a book on Hellas Verona when they got promoted to serie A, goes to every home and away match for the whole season and tell all about the fans, the politics and the team. Really interesting insight into the Italian football supporter.

Sounds a decent read despite the Amazon Review:

"Parks is accompanied by vividly ordinary, honestly working-class, determinedly urban Italians and gets to share their Nick Hornbyish highs and lows...These fans do all the normal soccer-supporter things like fight, drink, despair, exult, rant and put each other in comas; but they also do more surprising things, like sing songs in praise of the murderous Liverpool fans of Heysel and give voice to racist feelings about their southern compatriots."

Great bunch of lads.

Great bunch of lads.

That's Italian football for ya.

The ballad of the whiskey robber.

Has nothing to do with football but is by and large the best sports book I've ever read.

I know where your coming from but unfortunately Juve are as you know the most loved/hated club in Italy, not only do Verona sing about Heysel but so do the majority of clubs fans when they play Juve, in Italy there a bit behind the likes of the UK when it comes to insulting banners, racist chants and their not really too PC about what they sing (the all seem to get away with it)..........wrong I know but it's still a good football book. Hellas Verona are known to be leaning towards the right as do Lazio, funny enough most clubs in Italy have right wing ultras and left wing ultras at opposite ends of the ground. The only club who I know who are more or less totally left wing are Livorno, if you ever get a chance to get to a match in Italy I'd recommend Livorno v Lazio...........haven't been myself, I know a few lads that have been.........heard its mental.
