Well the ball IS going sideways and backwards now, and that's without the plays being booed at all.
Is booing going to stop the one in ten passes that go forward at the moment? I can't see it making out appalling play even worse. We've reached rock bottom, so either they get booed and they continue being just as bad, or it makes them take that chance on a forwards pass and it pays off.

Yes, I know the ball is going sideways and backwards at the minute - the team looks like it has absolutely zero confidence.
I completely understand the frustration - I've been so bloody dejected watching us play this season and I'm not for one second blaming the fans for our poor performance nor am I suggesting that all the fans need to do is support the team and our woes will disappear.
The only point I was making is that I don't see how giving players grief during a match can help (as I said before - have no issue with half time/full time boos or whatever people are into). For sure, some players react well to this... but honestly, at the moment it doesn't look like our team is full of these type of players.
Also not saying that giving players grief is going to stop the "one in ten" passes going forward but it just adds uncertainty. Then you get player trying the risky ball forward when they shouldn't and passing it backwards when it should be going forwards.
I know you're saying that you think the crowd reaction can have an affect on the players so this isn't directed at you - but I really don't understand this idea that it doesn't affect players at all. Everyone accepts that a positive atmosphere and support can seep through to the players - the proverbial 12th man... but then people argue that the opposite isn't true, it's a bit mad really.
Anyway, I get your point of view and you could easily be right and I could be dead wrong - we're just sharing opinions here... I'm just at a loss as to why we are playing so much within ourselves. It seems to me like it has to be a mental/psychologial thing... and if that's the case - I just don't see how getting on the players backs is going to help anything.
Regardless, we all want the same thing here - Everton to improve.
Hopefully we'll see this.
