If I agreed with you, we’d both be wrong.
I've just had a look through all the 4 league tables, which is not something I've done for a very long time.
I was shocked to see just how far down Bolton have gone.
They were fun to watch for a few years in the early 2000s Okocha Djorkaeff Campo and Jääskeläinen in goal.. they were a decent side.
Now in the bottom half of league 2 in their 30000 seater stadium.

Last time I went Bolton I'm sure Steve Watson scored.

Besides that I think they were in Europe the season we played Nuremberg, I'm sure I seen some fans at the airport

Yeah, Allardyce made Redknapp look like an amateur with the whealing and dealing he did at Bolton.

I went once, it was the first game my misses went to.. Artetta scored a screamer.. got goal of the month.

I always think sometimes it's horses for courses and Sam and Bolton were a good fit, don't think Sam would have made as much cash if he'd have stayed there or maybe he saw the writing on the wall in terms of ownership and the direction the club was going and bailed out.

That day fat Sam and his methods got pasted 5-0 by Stoke at Wembley in the Cup semi was the day his days at Bolton were numbered.
They have got old Tangerines legend Ian Evatt as manager from this season. Came from Barrow after getting them back in the league after 50 years away. Finding it harder to motivate Bolton and expectations are much higher there.

Pretty sure that was under Owen Coyle and about 5 years after Allardyce had left them.

They were bankrolled by Eddie Davies who just kept giving them as much cash as they needed
in the form on an interest free loan which is why they could afford to bring in and pay Okocha
and the others. As we all know Eddie Davies pulled the plug and the rest is history. It was never
a sustainable business model and the people running the club knew that. My daughter is friends
with a girl who's father helped handle the administration when they went belly up. The club
was financial house of cards.
