It was indeed. It's sad really because that first season under him was great. Roberto is a nice man but a fairly limited enough manager.

Still lingers with me that one, I've posted it on here before at least twice. Brought me tears when I saw it first time round.

As an Everton manager, personality and compassion wise he encompassed everything I could ever want.

When you got to the brass tacks of the matter though he couldn't organise a defence and his ignorance of set pieces was borderline criminal.

Lovely bloke, nothing but time for him but please don't ever come back to manage us.

How soon we forget how bad it was toward the end of his reign. We were absolutely shambolic at the back with no hope of righting the ship there.

Loved the first year and like him as a person. But it was dreadful for long stretches in the next two seasons. How can we forget the Kyiv capitulation with Alcaraz in the side? Then the next season? Utterly unwatchable

Yeah that's my point, at the time it was defo the right move but looking back I do think another 12 months wouldn't of hurt

Too stubborn to recognise that solid defending is the cornerstone of winning.
