We'll see mate. As you know, I don't like writing young players off too early. However, I think the strikers we have at the moment, with the exception of Fraser, are not good enough and need replacing. Realistically, we only have so many places in our squad and I'd rather fill it with players of the quality of Hirst and Campbell.

Aren't you doing that with this lad though? lol

No. Just expressing a preference for 2 players ahead of him. Don't think we can accommodate 3 new strikers in addition to Hornby.

Would you rather have this Callum lad ahead of either/both Hirst and Campbell.?

No but why is it a formality we'll get either? Don't remember us even being linked with Tyrese.

Plus never see Hirst play to be fair and this lad has league experience.

I've never seen this lad play Nymz, but I've seen Hirst play for England youth a few times and as an 18 yo in last years U20 Toulon tournament where he finished joint top scorer. He's a goal scorer, get's himself in good positions and has an excellent finish on him. Good size on him too and looks like he'll be a big lad like his dad. Tyrese Campbell only signed a 1 year contract with Stoke when he binned City last season, so he's out of contract in the summer. He's been linked to us I'm sure, but that may just have been lazy journalism with him still living in the North West and due to Kevins connection.

Anyway, who mentioned formality. All I'm saying is that I'd prefer these 2 if we can get them, and they're both out of contract so we should be all over them both.

I'd like all 3 mate haha.

I just mean you were asking why this lad over Campbell/Hirst but why is it even that situation? We might have tried the other two and been jibbed off, this lad might be the only one we can get.

As I said, we already have Fraser Hornby who's a good prospect. Realistically 3 more would be too many for the amount of fixtures they have.

You could be right, but I'm sure if we'd been jibbed off over either player we'd have heard about it. Especially Hirst, who's dad was furious that he wasn't consulted over Everton's approach last summer which, led to the players stand off with the club earlier in the season.

Can loan them out you know... haha

We're getting worse than Chelsea. When we realise we can't get rid of most of our first team squad with sales, then factor in the youngsters, I reckon we could easily have 12/15 players out on loan next season. We've had about 12 this season I think.

3 is a lot but I'd not be aversed to signing all 3 as well. We should be aggressive in these areas.

So? What's the other option?

Either we sign players for the academy and use some in our team or loan them out.

Or only sign players for the starting academy XI and anyone else we just let other teams sign?
