Bill told us we couldn't stay at Goodison because it was crumbling all around us. He's had ample time to move us and renovate the ground. If not that, then at least have some plan in place for the next 3, 5 10 years that will see us move forward. Everytime one of the fan group comes up with something the PR machine is out telling us about another possible site, which will never happen lads, this board will never provide what we need. So laugh at the alternative view while remembering that.

I think that's a fair response mate.

That being the case BU needs proper PR advice because what you have just said eloquently in your post is not what most people, myself included, believe BU to be.

They don't need PR advice. They need a local media not in the club's pocket that is willing to give them coverage.

There was nothing terrible or flawed or botched about what they announced and discussed today.

The reaction of certain fans is due to the way the group has been portrayed (or not portrayed at all) previously.

That's the spirit! Sod this 'Lets improve things and make things better' lark!

What a disappointing but not wholly unexpected thread this has been.

Like a message board version of protest marching with 300 other Blues only to be laughed at by approximately the same number of fellow Blues drinking in the Royal Oak. Ah, memories. Still, we tried.

Jesus wept mate. Not everything in here is deadly serious.

The "where's the Arteta money Bill" thing was blown out of all proportion IMO and whilst it's not the sort of thing you want happening, when the doors are locked and people think they don't have to answer to their fan base, what are he alternatives?

The BU needs to get themselves into a position where the doors are no longer locked, that performance added another lock on the door in my opinion.

I do agree with you that it is very hard to push the issue, especially with local media uninterested, and I don't have any answers living on the other side of the world, but from the outside in it looks very amateurish and abrasive.

I applaud people's desires for change and trying to do something, but my original point was you can't stand still and dig your feet in, both sides need to move, and if the BU want the majority of the fans on board they will need to soften their stance.

You are though.

FFS, in before the edit.

(I'm not being deadly serious either. Lets be friends again, eh?)

BTW, I'm really not. I'm just aghast at people's hypocrisy.

"THAT BLUE UNION! WHY DON'T THEY SUGGEST SOME IDEAS INSTEAD OF PROTESTING AND MOANING???!!!"

<Ideas presented>

"THAT BLUE UNION ARE IDIOTS! LETS MOCK AND SNEER AT THEM!"

*Sighs*

It's like they have to win the approval of a load of people who are actually not prepared to do anything apart from pick holes in the efforts of people who do.

If you get their approval they might help, at the moment the BU owes the average Everton fan jack [Poor language removed].

they'll never be trusted after the tape thing though.

and they are an unelected representation of the match going fans
