I don't know any chefs who moan about a well-done steak. It's ace, you just leave it on the back of the grill in the hotspot and forget about it while you go about cooking everything else.

I know plenty mate. Thing is, once you let the Prole talk you into serving gash steak, they'll come back.

I was intentionally being a whopper with my tone earlier mate. However, perhaps a carvery would be a better option?

There is a restaurant in Carcassonne that does a blue steak on the open fire that is absolutely to die for. Surpassed only by the rare duck breast. Mouth watering just thinking about it.

Had it blue, wasn't a fan. Medium rare for me, but can go for rare too.

Don't understand people who prefer it well done. From experience, it's usually people who haven't even tried it medium rare as they're scared of it for some reason.

I think a lot of people were put off pink beef years ago with mad cow disease and undercooked beef scares and that.

Personally I like it medium/medium rare.

Haha , I was hoping you were taking the Mick when you used the word Prole, it did amuse me though. Carvery is one of the best value for money meals out there in my opinion as well mate, nothing wrong with them.


Has anybody eaten in Cau on Castle st it's supposed to be tremendous for the steaks, I've not been yet but it is on my list of things to do soon.
