You can dress this game up in the smallest skirt and the tighest top, it was still a shocker.

Pre-Season it may have been, but if we play anything like that against the Arse we will get smashed like a hooker down an alley. The Moyes chap has some time now before our next game, get the players in Davey lerd.

Keeping my fingers crossed that Jo only turned his ankle and nothing more. We need Peanut healthy for the Malaga game.

Mick I understand we are going through the paces at the moment. But I wish we could be more inventive in the middle of the park and quit hoofing the ball up the field hoping for the best. Not much imagination from Mr Hibbo & Mr Yobo:( bypassing them for route one either.

Moyes: 'Not what we expect' – News Archive – News – evertonfc.com – The Official Website of Everton Football Club

David Moyes described Everton's performance against Blackpool as 'well below what we expect'.

The Goodison chief was left frustrated by his side's display in a 2-1 pre-season friendly defeat to Ian Holloway's Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

All the goals in the 2-1 reverse came in the opening period, with David Vaughan and Jason Euell scoring either side of a Jo effort to consign the travelling Blues to defeat.

But it was the nature of the performance that really concerned the manager.

He told evertonTV: "It wasn't very good, so we're disappointed. I was disappointed in the performance and the attitude in the first half, all round it was well below what we expected."

The manager was buoyed by the attitude of his senior players after the game, but added: "I think they should all see it - there's importance in every game and maybe one or two sohould have recognised it before the game started."

Everton now have just one pre-season game remaining - with Malaga visitting Goodison Park on Friday night.

Pre-season is exactly pre-season. It's about playing at match speed without getting injured (forget the lesson Jo?). Not sure how the Prem pre-season compares to the NFL over here, but the NFL pre-season is only to get the rust of the starters and see if the rookies/free agents can make the team for the season. Nobody cares about the score.

Figure you'll see a little different intensity against Malaga at Goodison.

Toes tapping for the Arse....you won't steal a point like you did last season(y)

at this point of the preseason though the team should be well into their stride, and ready to unleash all that pent up summer aggression from seeing bouncing braless boobs on the streets. as it is we looked worse than our 1st game at bury, blackpool ripped us a new one on more than 1 occasion last night.

They've two weeks to get some fine tuning done...the fitness will come quickly if not already there.

Obviously, some mental work needs to be done - I'll wait and see to hear how they come out against Malaga. Playing crap sides on their grounds is less than inspiring - Bloomfield Road holds only 9600 and although I didnt' watch, I don't expect it was full. That will change with finally a match at Goodison.

Moyes should be concerned with getting Pienaar and Lescott healthy, figuring out if Rodwell can play a lick at CB, finding any possible way to compensate for Arteta's creative absence and getting something done in the transfer window. Not that he should be neglecting the side's performance but he has the help of Steve Round, Neville and Cahill to get the lads heads screwed on straight.

Look at the side - exclusive of Rodwell and Fellaini, there are a lot of experienced players that will be on the pitch against Arse. They've been to this dance before.
