if you had been here on the 2nd (good friday) then there would've only been 1 place to go dt.......

Fri 2 Apr St. Helens v Wigan Warriors

in fact me and sharpy would've probably come with you.

Although I'm not really into rugby, it seems like a missed opportunity to me. Watching the match in the company of both you and Sharpy sounds like a chance gone by. Was there any chance of getting completely pissed, before, during and after that match?:P

I've got a soft spot for Shrewsbury DT, family in the area, been quite a few times. Nice new ground, and should be a decent game, you may even meet Sven!

It's about an hour on the train from Liverpool. Night life is nothing like Blackpool though - which for me is a good thing.

Bury's not far - home town of our captain! Wrexham v Gateshead is on that day. Blue square prem game, lovely ground esp for none league. West kirby train from lime street/central/moorfields/james street to bidston then the Wrexham train from bidston to Wrexham general - grounds right next to the train station, same side of the road but on your right!

Crewe is my hometown so I would recommend you lend them your support, they don't half need it right now! However Blackpool wins hands down if your after a night out. There's not much in Crewe to be honest.

Blackpool all day long mate....

Their groung is quiet new also and not that bad. Plus there playing some really good stuff at the moment.

Their manager is a legend.

To think I started this thread to make my decision easier.:dodgy:

Still undecided here. Blackpool certainly sounds promising, but keeping in mind it is in the first week of April and also on Easter Sunday, is there any activity there? Guess it depends on the weather, doesn't it?

it'll be rammed mate. if you are going there then get your hotel sorted out, the accom alone will be an experience in that town.

don't know if Easter Sunday is still one of the days that are subject to ancient drinking laws with being a religious holiday, you may find that the pubs have to close early. just something i thought of.

good call, i might join ya!

It's now officially between Blackpool and Wrexham, but it looks like I get the final saying in this. Personally warmed to Wrexham after I googled some pics of their stadium. Any idea what train company has the best service between Liverpool and Wrexham? Also have to look for the time schedule as I need to get a train back to Liverpool that day.

merseyrail from liverpool to bidston then arriva trains wales to Wrexham. You can also go via chester, liverpool - chester - Wrexham. Same companies, merseyrail then arriva. www.NationalRail.co.uk www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk
