Match Thread Blackburn 1-0 Everton. Sat July 19th 3pm.

Watched the match. None of it is concerning. For clubs like Blackburn, it’s a good test for them and they seem to put in better effort. I felt like our strikers and midfield were playing 1/2 to 3/4 pace. The main goal for us is to work up to 90’ fitness, not get injured as a starter, and to test out the young lads. So today was mission accomplished.

No, that is their full pace, it may look 1/2 pace but......

Always really poor in preseason and then inevitably start the season really slow

I know the results are meaningless in preseason but it does usually overhang into the start of the season

overall promising signs, think we had a lot of nice link up play but lack the precision we need. Dwight and Charly had a couple of shots in good positions, feel like they might have done better in the season.

Need a right back and could use a centermid that either defends really well or attacks really well. Striker might be a bit of a concern but seems like that might not be what we will be pushing for the rest of the window.
