Moyes joins Everton and within weeks is falling out, upsetting and unsettling Rooney = Fact
Smith gets role as temporary coach at Man Utd.

No conspiracy really mate, the real fact is that Everton had become such an irrelevance at the top of the table, that their top players were always likely to leave at any point. Well performing managers would also be likely to leave.

The reason they are an irrelevance is more interesting?

Strange how Moyes, who lived in Preston and was still Everton manager at the time, just happened to be shopping in Cheshire, when he got a phone call from Ferguson, asking him to come and see him at his house to offer him the job, and Moyes knew exactly were he lived.

Especially when posted in the Kenwright thread as to who one of the main culprits (in causing the club to spiral downwards in those 15 years to make it all too easy to prise away our once-in-a-generation local talent) might be to explain why it was our own ineptitude not conspiracy.

Gregg pretty much said the same. He said anyone visiting the city regardless of who they supported would have seen our stadium. It would have drawn people to it and to our club.

The only bit I didn’t agree with was when he said he’d get Madonna performing in it waving an Everton scarf.
