It must have some effect but being crap is obviously far more of an impact on a player's ability to perform. I'm sure haaland won't turn into Nunez if someone boos him.

Mate, we’ve added social media to the fray! Players now get their cowardly abuse where ever they go. It also creates many false narratives (as constantly seen here) which perpetuates in to “fact”

It’s very unhealthy and will never make a player better .

To go all out and chase their car and scream at them is out of order no matter how passionate they are. Leave the screaming and profanity in the stadium if they insist on doing it. At least dished out abuse with class.

From the beginning fans have voiced their opinions at the match.
Social media in more recent times means that abuse can be more personal, practically constant and very, very public.

Well , we could always sit there politely applauding good play from whichever side plays it.
But it’s football and it’s always been a raucous highly emotive environment, that’s one of its attractions, you can’t have the ying without the Yang.
