Biggest positives
Stones
Deulofeu
Garbutt
McCarthy

Also Cleverley signing for us when he was doing well at Villa. Shows how highly Martinez is thought of.

Deulofeu, so happy he is back at the club and seems to be a case of "once Everton has touched you"...
I count you as one of my co-mega Deulofeu fans. I genuinely believe this lad has the abilities to make it to the top top football echelon. That Everton has him on their books still has me shaking my head. As you say, 'once Everton has touched you...'
Mind you, to support Everton, it helps to be a little touched ...lol

Keeping Stones and getting Deulofeu on the cheap.

In time, getting the Argentinian international centre half for the next ten years in his prime might be considered the best buy of the window - fingers crossed.

Not caving in to Norwich and selling our star. We won't be bullied by the big clubs
lol...much as Naismith gives me eye ache watching him ruin our attacks, I really like him as a person. He would have died inside to be sent to Delia land. When he next 'graces' our home pitch, I hope Goodison ebulliently shouts out in defiant unison:
RISE LIKE A SALMON NAISY!!!

Getting Deulofeu (buy back is a massive worry on that score though), keeping Stones (although doubt it's the last we will hear of him leaving - will all start again come January), HOPEFULLY signing the new Ayala to partner Stones (time will tell on that one though)

Very pleased I re to back stones stayinhen it was five to two. Somehow it would have tarnished the whole 'it's not just about money' vibe.

Just glad the whole circus is over to be honest. Stones is still an Everton player and a few new faces in, looking forward to the focus being completely on football now!

Upgrading the wingers.

Last season we had Kev, Atsu, McGeady and 1/2 a season of Lennon.

This season we have Kev, Deulofeu, a full season of Lennon and McGeady (ffs). Much better.

Go read my post in new signings if you want more backstory, but I was starting to really like Everton during the whole Stones saga and once they stood up to one of the rich clubs (not big clubs) on Stones it really showed me that they want to build for the future and compete. Pretty much solidified me as an Everton fan since that's all we want, a team that tries to win.
