Stones walking out of the pitch at Goodison Park on Saturday week and putting in a matchwinning performance, Mourinho sulking on the touchline as the fans sing out the Stones song; then afterwards hearing the likes of Alan Shearer on MOTD saying "I was dead wrong on this. Everton have not only showed their class, they've showed they have a real vision for the future, and I applaud them for that."

Everton being bullied by Chelsea , and the entire media into selling John Stones . But standing firm , with the chairman's statement showing the class Everton FC have . A good day for football
I think all parties played a superb innings here. Even Stones showed some class after submitting his request and not getting petulant like some others have in the past. It shows that no team has to be a feeder club to the money clubs.

Nothing like a few loan players trying to prove themselves worthy of a move.
Worked two seasons ago...
No real panic buys unlike a few other clubs

I would of liked a loan, as you say it has worked out before, boost the squad, and if dosen't work out you can send them back.

Without doubt Stones staying as he's an ace defender but more so because of the message it sent out. You can't cherry pick our best players too easy and especially if you play shithouse games in the media.

On top of that it always reassured the potentially exciting young squad we've got that we're trying to develop something rather than farm them all for profit.

For now anyway.
