Ok mate. Looks like you've given it more thought than me. CheersI'd say Lescott was worse in that, Barkley had been publically insulted by Koemann. Also I always viewed Barkley as a deeply sensitive player, who had a lack of self esteem, and got ok in neck when things went wrong. Lescott was loved and respected by us, he left a team playing in UEFA cup to a team who weren't in Europe. Even when City Qualified for champions league they got knocked out twice in group stage. Barkley moving to Premier league winners in champions league isn't as bad. If Lescott had left like Rodwell in 2012 I would of said anything.
His red card and comedy pleadings made it less hurtful, in fact, it made it hilarious. It was so embarrassing. They signed him because he wasn't euro cup tied, and bombed him out double lively about 4 months later. Galatasary loan. Finished. Shocking career of not a lot of games played for anyone. Ideas well above his station.I do feel like ole Abel got off the hook lightly tbh
I still don't think it'll be the same as Barmby. There's something about going directly there and agitating for it to happen. Gordon will get called all sorts when he rocks up there but it'll be panto, imo. Barmby was a turd. I'm glad it didn't really work out for him there, or anywhere really after that move.Wait until Gordon signs for them
It was snidey but it seems like Blue Bill was fully supportive of the whole scenario, which is as weird as it is disappointing. I can't imagine my boss allowing me to start working with a competitor organisation for a few weeks/months before I left to join them. It was very, very odd. Kenwright was a total disaster.I agree, but theres a way of doing it. Not running down your contract and working with SAF, all whilst being employed by Everton
