What does the future hold for this young man at GP. We have signed a C/F for £11 mil, young James Vaughan is on paper a much better player and, imo young Skywalker has far more potential than Vic, so where does he go to in the years ahead.

based on what I've seen of him over the last few games he does not have the basic skills requirede to make it at the very top. He has all the hallmarks of another Chadwick, some might say Cademarteri, Grant and Jeffers but he is not as good as they were at the same stages of their careers.

If in the coming 12 months a Championship side come in for him do we sell, keep on send out on loan, I'd say sell!

which striker at the club offers what he does?

answer - none.

can yakubu battle for headers? no

can johnson or vaughan rough it with CB grocks? no

chelsea won two premierships off the back of didier 'battering ram' drogba.

im not saying vic is as good as drogba, but he allows a different approach, a different style of play, an opportunity to change the game.

kevin davies at bolton is the player that currently springs to mind, but there are numerous players that have played this way, ferguson, quinn, hartson, drogba, viduka (to an extent) heskey, even crouch (not successfully)

vaughan, johnson, yakubu, all offer something different, they arent the bruisers that will challenge for headers time after time and look to flick the ball on or knock it down for a strike partner.

if we let vic go, then another more capable, experienced player of a similar fashion will be needed.

I disagree with you description of his atributes Suits but please vote according to your views so at least we get a fair representation.

Imo he loses possession very easily, gets narked far too quickly and has limited abilities for a player of his size. It isn't very helpful for him to opt to be chosen by Nigeria, not that he'd be assured of a game for that country. but if he is successful we will lose him for the ANC and Olympics. As for being a bruiser Yakubu is no wilting flower mate. You also fail to acknowledge the existence of young Skywalker who again imo should be having his turn in the side sooner rather than later

I am not convinced about Victor sometimes I think he will make it other times hes not that good but on Yakubu showing so far prefer Victor

With AJ, Yak, & Faddy (and Vaughan back soon), Vic falls down in the pecking order.

Loan him out so he can play every day and continue to improve.

yakubu is no flower, but he got no change from woodgate today.

im sure he will come good when gravesen and arteta are working some passing magic, but at the moment we dont have that luxury, and the games are trickling along.

he has shown at pompey and boro that he can almost singlehandedly destroy a side with powerful precise shooting and strength and pace to work opportunities.

wheres that yakubu, because he hasnt turned out for everton yet.

Now you are well aware of my feelings about this signing, he is here so accept it! Ironically DM has already told him to cut out the distance shooting, that imo is wrong because the guy is not a team player he is an instinct player and he should not be restrained.:dodgy:

wheres the distance shooting orders come from? i havnt noticed. good today to see a few players have a pop from distance, arteta two or three times, mcfadden and even neville had a go.

as for him being here, i accpet it and hope/expect him to come good, but if not then kanu wont be playing forever ;)

offers something different upfront keep him I say...unless a better alternative becomes avialable but he would only be allowed to leave once the alternative is wearing our shirt...Koller, Zigic or someone of a similar mould.

I agree we need a big man upfront because we do play a lot of route 1 especially when mikel is not playing

SOmeone said in another thread that Vic the sub and Vic the starter is not the same player. He could'nt be more right! Whenever he has started a game he is easily found out by the defenders and offers nothing. However when he has been brought on as a sub he offers fresh legs against tired ones and he really is another threat.

But all in all we can't use a player who cannot start a game. What I really don't like about him is his attitude whenever he is fouled - don't get me wrong I like his spirited approach and the fact that he plays with his heart on his sleeve but the hysteria, jumping up and down will get him nothing but bookings.

Sell him if the offer is right.
