Big engineering

If you can get there and visit, do so quick, it's coming down and right soon.
I went there last year, when we first booked to go it’s because it was getting knocked down, then it a reprieve, but now looks like it’s coming down once more. Loved the stadium, loudest noise I’ve ever heard at a game (obvs before our new ground 😂 ) but if you’re over 5 foot 8 inches you’ll find it very uncomfortable siting down.

Would have been helpful to get high speed rail through to london and birmingham at least and so alleviate some of the pressures on the airports. Green agenda etc.
we have some construction contracts on HS2 and its an incredibly impressive project. Really easy to scoff at the expense etc but I love going to do site visits on these major projects

I worked on ground investigations over the whole line for 5 years.

The most impressive part is down south for me where the Chiltern tunnel begins as the original ground level was nearly 50m higher! Plus the viaduct that went in!

Awesome project. Pooh-poohed by those with no idea!

No pictures but I always thought the Panama canal lock system was pretty impressive.

The history of that things is fascinating, started by the French who eventually ran out of money, abandoned, then restarted by the americans. I'm not sure how but chinese interest and investiture in one of the companies that part owns and operates it has caused strife up at capitol hill.

I love a good Lock system. Not on the same scale obviously, but when I visited Scotland a couple of years ago we stopped at a little place which I think was called Fort Augustus or something (my memory fails me), basically it’s where Loch Ness meets the Caledonian canal via a lock system, it was awesome.
