betting suspended

Alan Shearer springs to mind.

Yes. That turned out well.

I've nothing against DF - if he goes away and proves himself elsewhere then fair enough. To pitchfork him or any other internal figure from the shadows with zero experience would be catastrophic though.

You dont learn on the job in the PL. Not if you want to survive and thrive.

Only reason I'd put money on Ferguson is if Bill decides to look internally which isn't beyond the realms of possibility then maybe big dunc with Steve round as assistant and leave all backroom staff in place it's a cheap option I know and I wouldn't like it to happen but you just never know with efc anymore to be honest

I'm not going to worry about Lennon as the favourite, surely kenwright isn't that stupid.

Er....

Been trying all morning to place a bet with paddy power on next manager so after a number of attempts online I decided to ring to place the bets.. Guy I spoke with told me that betting has been suspended.May be nothing. Interesting though that betting has been suspended? !!

Manager markets are often suspended overnight, they're quite volatile markets so the main traders who are looking after them tend to take them offline until they're back in the following morning.

Been trying to tell myself for the last 2 days that it won't be Lennon, problem is I just know it will, either him or Mark Hughes or Martin O'neill none of whom I would want anywhere near Goodison. Moyes moving on can be a positive but only if Kenwright does not try to appoint a Moyes light type of manager like Lennon

Why doesn't Knewright put a ****ing million on Pereira, then at 14/1 we have a summer transfer budget if he signs.

A ton of bets on Mackay this morning have made him 3rd favourite now, and Lennon is still the favourite after all these bets from N. Ireland!

I'm just wondering why all seem to reject him. I don't know him that well, that's why I'm asking.

There's something evil in those eyes. He's also a tit. I will revise both opinions if he becomes our next manager. Here's two pictures of him to prove my point however:

The betting odds are completely irrelevant right now. What are they speculating on, exactly? Kenwright's psychology?

There's a decent chance several agents have been sounded out over their clients' willingness but there's no chance any serious decisions have been made by the board.

It's a funny one for Kenwright. He's a sentimental shmuck at heart (what did he suggest for the King's Dock, something like "Goodison-by-the-waterside"?), so he probably wells up at the idea of a Duncan-Kendall-Southall-Sheedy dream team, but he'll be savvy enough to know (and so will Green et al) that the only way this little thirteen-year adventure of his can pay off (or pay out) is if he makes a very good choice. I imagine that will mean a measured, considered and slightly safe choice. Certainly nobody who has a significant failure on their CV like Hughes or O'Neill, nor anyone with zero experience (Neville, D.Ferguson).

Martinez, Laudrup, Clarke, Pereira - I don't think he'll be looking much further.
