2025/26 Beto

81 games, 13 goals - a goal every 6.23 games

victor anichebe - 26 goals in 168 games - a goal every 6.46 games

calling him our worst ever striker seems a bit harsh

He`s nowhere near our worst striker.

The problem is that we`ve had so many bad strikers since Lukaku, that they all seem to blend into one.

Anyone who ever watched Brett Angel, wouldn`t be saying that Beto is out worst ever striker.

Depending on how people want to view stats he's started only about 30 odd games out of that. His goals per starts arent that bad on paper.
Unfortunately its the green grass that its played on and your eyes when watching him thats the problem. Worst ever striker technique wise? Possibly. Off the top of my head himself and Brett angell had very little control of a ball.

Niasse was falling over passes played to his feet, but knew how to score, fair play to him.

Seems to be the norm with Barry as well. His reading of the game is terrible.

Yeah true. There was one moment and Tarkowski got stick for it but he looked up and Beto was in front of the defender, by the time Tarkowski put his head down to play the ball Beto was behind the Sunderland defender who intercepted the pass. Was all the way through the game this.

‘Chebes made over 30 of those games on the wings though when Mr SquarepegRoundhole was bringing him through….
In hindsight, Anichebe should count himself lucky that he didn’t spend a season playing at right back.

Would not bother me if we sent Beto out on loan (or even sold him), then attempt to bring another striker in. I am trying to be nice to Beto but he is very erratic to put it mildly !!
