2024/25 Beto

It is just so nice to be reminded that strikers are meant to be scoring goals.

Feels like it's been years since we had someone we could rely on to do that.
ITs been years since we had a football manager.

This fella was the last we had, before Moyes.

Yeah 5 years since we've had a striker in form like Beto scoring 5 goals in 4 matches. A lot of footy played in that time.

The support has suffered a lot, like a man dying of thirst in the Sahara but Beto and Moyes have finally led us to an Oasis of safety. Hallelujah

What a player he was as well.

But Moyes is here now, he only knows how to improve players.

Heres to Beto claiming the golden boot.

Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Can't wait to watch him run the ball right at the keeper and take a chance rather than stand around with his back to goal looking for no one to pass to.

If you really look at the numbers based on how many minutes they’ve each played, Beto was almost exactly as productive as DCL. If he’d played the same minutes, he’d also have scored 7. But if he’d been given more minutes and consistency, he might have had a breakthrough.

Everyone talks nonsense on Beto, but he's never been given a fair chance by this team. DCL has had 19 starts — over 1500 minutes — and has just 3 goals. Two of those came early in the season in losses, and he's almost nothing to do with any of our wins before the Spurs game, when he finally showed something.

Beto has been given one start plus scraps for about 300 minutes, 1/5 the opportunity DCL has had, mostly coming in at the ends of games in moments of managerial desperation with no tactics. There's no comparison. He's a different kind of striker, but he's one who can power through in situations where DCL loses the ball or the nerve to attack. If the team had played to Beto's strengths and given him the chance to prove himself, he would have given everything for Everton, but Dyche may have wasted his time here.

Some people just take an awful lot longer to see the obvious talent on display before their eyes.

Eventually, all come to the light.

Nar, there was NO talent on show.

Look, only a fool doesnt change his opinion when faced with clear evidence.

But Beto was bad, real bad, then he was coached, given an arm around the shoulder and now hes not.

He would be in Italy now if Broja didnt kick the floor, it wasnt just Everton fans that thought he was rubbish.

Great movement, great finish and that was his very first goal and appearance. Yes, it was a league two side, but the signs were there for those willing to open their eyes and witness.

The goals he scored recently look exactly like that one. He always had it, he just didn't get the opportunities because someone played favourites with an out of form striker.
