ITs been years since we had a football manager. It is just so nice to be reminded that strikers are meant to be scoring goals.
Feels like it's been years since we had someone we could rely on to do that.
This fella was the last we had, before Moyes.

You half jest. But I tell ye. We were about to sell him for pennies. Wouldn't let him go for under 30 million now.The way he is scoring watch out, Chelsea, Man U, Arsenal will be looking come the close season.
Yeah 5 years since we've had a striker in form like Beto scoring 5 goals in 4 matches. A lot of footy played in that time.ITs been years since we had a football manager.

The support has suffered a lot, like a man dying of thirst in the Sahara but Beto and Moyes have finally led us to an Oasis of safety. Hallelujah

— Me, comparing what I knew about Beto's style to DCL's lack thereof in the Confirmed Signing Beto thread, Aug. 28, 2023Can't wait to watch him run the ball right at the keeper and take a chance rather than stand around with his back to goal looking for no one to pass to.
— Me, crunching the numbers and thinking Beto could break out if given half a chance in the 2023/2024 Beto thread, July 17, 2024If you really look at the numbers based on how many minutes they’ve each played, Beto was almost exactly as productive as DCL. If he’d played the same minutes, he’d also have scored 7. But if he’d been given more minutes and consistency, he might have had a breakthrough.
— Me, responding to claims that DCL is our best striker and that "Beto won't improve" in the 2024/2025 Dominic Calvert-Lewin thread, Jan. 26, 2025Everyone talks nonsense on Beto, but he's never been given a fair chance by this team. DCL has had 19 starts — over 1500 minutes — and has just 3 goals. Two of those came early in the season in losses, and he's almost nothing to do with any of our wins before the Spurs game, when he finally showed something.
Beto has been given one start plus scraps for about 300 minutes, 1/5 the opportunity DCL has had, mostly coming in at the ends of games in moments of managerial desperation with no tactics. There's no comparison. He's a different kind of striker, but he's one who can power through in situations where DCL loses the ball or the nerve to attack. If the team had played to Beto's strengths and given him the chance to prove himself, he would have given everything for Everton, but Dyche may have wasted his time here.
Some people just take an awful lot longer to see the obvious talent on display before their eyes.Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!

Nar, there was NO talent on show. Some people just take an awful lot longer to see the obvious talent on display before their eyes.
Eventually, all come to the light.
Lets see what hes like when hes playing under The Ginger Wizard.Made up for him.
I wouldn't have fancied DCL to score any of those 4 goals.
He doesn't look confident in those 1 on 1s.

Look, only a fool doesnt change his opinion when faced with clear evidence.
But Beto was bad, real bad, then he was coached, given an arm around the shoulder and now hes not.
He would be in Italy now if Broja didnt kick the floor, it wasnt just Everton fans that thought he was rubbish.
Beto will have to be injured to get his place back in the side.Lets see what hes like when hes playing under The Ginger Wizard.
