I'd swap Pienaar for Kev, but have them alternating every 20 mins or so.

The one thing we lack is quality back-up for any of the positions in midfield. Oviedo is decent, Vic is playing well and Nev is Nev. We could do with one player who could fit perfectly in any position in midfield.

I honestly believe he will be something quite special.

There's a possibility. Has all the attributes - good on the ball, can pick a pass, decent at crossing, decent at tackling and fast as hell. Only thing is atm that he maybe needs to have a bit more confidence and bulk up a bit (which will happen over pre-season). Looks promising.

Fair enough for having the balls to put an unpopular argument forward mate. I can defo understand where you're coming from. Neville is one of those players who tends to get ridiculed by some people who don't always get what's happening tactically on the pitch. The reason for this is because he is there more for what he does without the ball than with it. His communication and example on the pitch is excellent. His positional sense is always selfless is key to preventing goals being conceded. He keeps it ticking over when he gets the bal and rarely gives it away. I agree he is not a natural midfielder but I am happy for him to play there in Gibson's absence. However what I don't understand is why you're not on the Gibson bandwagon mate. Tactically he can do everything Neville does and our goals against column (when gibson plays) backs this up. He isn't as verbal as neville but that is a personality thing. Technically though the lad is on a different level to Neville. His passing range allows us to dictate and control games better when he plays. He has the knack of knowing when to play short and when the opportuntity is right to go long or play a through ball. His weight of pass is excellent and workrate is sound. Add to this Gibson (although a crock) has about a 8 year age advantage but still decent experience he gets my vote in this one.

First off, Thank You for your response. I can completely understand where you are coming from here but I honestly think that our fan base over enthuses about Gibson. I like Gibson, I really do. I think he has a lot of skill and that goal he scored against City will live in my memory for the rest of my life. That being said, I still think the leadership qualities of Neville outweigh Gibson's footballing ability. Neville may be a right/left back by trade but I think he offers other pluses in Mid Field than Gibson and this is why, if I had to choose, my vote goes to Neville. I know I'm in the minority here and I respect the opinion of everyone else. I just don't see what everyone else sees when they deify Gibson. He's good, maybe a 75 out of 100. Others may disagree but that's just what I think. i don't see it guys, sorry. Maybe one day it will click with me but that day isn't today

Thanks again for such a fair and reasoned response
