Wasn't Peter Reid only about £60k too? Incredible deal!!!
I mentioned him in the opening title thread particularly when Gordon Lee bid £600,000 for him only for him to fail his medical with crocked knees etc then HK came and snapped him up for a mere £60, 000 - like Andy gray missed training alot being iced up - became a world class midfielder so yes a deffo bargain!;)

...add to that Andy Gray £250k and Kevin Sheedy £100k.

Cahill and Arteta have to be seen as incredible value for money along with other shrewd purchases of the Moyes era. I'd include Tim Howard who was a decent keeper for most of his time and served the club very well for many years.

For older Blues....if we had had the Internet a few years ago...imagine the fume if we had built a team made of cheap , some of them half injured rejects from Winsford, Dumbarton, Tranmere, Bolton, LFc reserves, Burnley, Wolves, Sunderland nutter from Birmingham, Carlisle, converted a full back to centre half, little possibly overpriced fella from Stoke.......!!!!!

@Joey66 you little scamp, you can't start a thread from the late 50's then chalk Dixie down as No.1 that's...errr...cheating.

Anyway my choice would be Llandudnos greatest bin man...Wales Wales number 1!!!
