I know plenty of black Americans and those that have seen it love it mate. Same as my white American mates. Or Hispanic American mates too come to think of it. It’s ace TV.

Oh aye, the #BlackLivesMatter rep has turned up. I agree that persecuting and murdering a whole race is absolutely disgusting behaviour, we just have to be grateful that the Germans set their moral compass a little higher than this sort of behaviour.

Don't think I've ever seen The Wire (where three of the lead policemen [and women]) are black, just as a starter, described as racist by any serious commentator. Obama apparently use to watch it as it it went out whenever possible and regularly brought it up for praise , can't see him doing that if he thought there was racism behind it.

The article says 'Is the Wire racist?' and the article surmises that it isn't. It literally only looks at one side of a Harvard debate (so, it being debate), someone HAD to argue that it was.

One article there even argues that the 'Characters' viewpoints are racist http://www.racismreview.com/blog/2008/02/26/sociologists-critique-the-wire/ and not the show in itself.

None of the rest of them are 'serious commentators'.

But you knew that, you're just a gargantuan meff. You've typed 'The Wire racist' into google and linked a few search results without reading the articles.
