Spellow or Harlech - both got sound ale.

The abbey was sound but I haven’t been for a while.

Royal Oak and the Brick sound if you don’t mind it chocker.

I Wouldn’t go in the Frost if I was using someone else’s money.

I've never understood the attraction either. I get the ale is fairly priced and kept well, but for me, it's regularly far too busy.

Always went to the Thomas Frost early then head to the Brick before and after the match. A lot of Irish blues end up there after the match.

Absolutely spot on. Just another reason to look forward to moving to the new gaff. It's a mile nearer the city centre which has some of the best traditional pubs going.

Different ale houses, different crowds, I bounce between them - Ship has the big range of ales, Excelsior has the togger and a respectable selection. I love having both options.

To add a caveat, the Harlech Castle served me one of the nicest pints of Guinness I've ever had.

Harlech is my main goto now the Spellows gone a bit... odd.

The Lisbon is probably the best, can also get a date for the night if you play your cards right.

That's very predictable when this comes up. The last time I went to Goodison, a long time ago, we went to The Anfield.

Shocking name, I know, but a fairly short walk away and the ale was Ok.

Maybe because recent years it's been the easiest place to park but last several times on match day I've ended up at Top House. Although once the woman behind the bar couldn't understand my dad because he wasn't scouse enough.
